When you are in Lantau Island, you can visit the famous Tian Tan Buddha. Is is a 34-meter high Big buddha and is the world’s largest seated outdoor bronze buddha. Enjoying the view from here will entail climbing roughly 250 steps. But trust me, it is going to be worth it when you are up there.

You can also visit Po Lin Monastery and witness grandiose and intricate designs of the famous temple from ceiling down to the floor.

Do not forget to try authentic Buddhist vegetarian foods from the Monastery’s cafe. Since i barely know some of the foods being sold at the cafe, i just trusted my gut in picking the foods that we will be trying. Most are sweet treats, noodles and soups and dumplings. ( shhh, not really fan of chinese foods though i am part chinese, so eating at the cafe made me more hungry and ecited to be back to the inner city and have my fancy meal. lolz)

The best time to go to Ngo ping 360 is always early morning so it won’t be that hot when you climb to get to the big Buddha or to climb the hill towards the Wisdom path or trek the mountain  of Lantau just like what we accidentally did. Yes, we almost reached the peak. But because we do not have any guide to follow, we decided to just let go of that dream of reaching the peak of the mountain and move on with our ordinary lives as simple backpackers who wishes nothing but world peace and unlimited travel funds. lolz

Going to Ngo Ping: take MTR Tung Chung Station, exit B. From the Bus terminus net to the MTR station, take the Bus 23 to the Po Lin Monastery.

Did you notice how idle I am to add words to this entry? haaaa too lazy and i am having writer’s block resting for more than a year doing nothing but eat. Hopefully i can finish the whole Hongkong trip’s entries before 2016 ends. hahaha

Wishing everyone a peaceful and happy life,

Maria
